Why capacitor is required for single phase motor

When operating a single-phase electric motor, the torque is somewhat weak in addition to the voltage fluctuations from the single-phase power source, so it is necessary to place an electrical capacitor called a run capacitor, which enhances the motor’s torque and also contributes to overcoming the voltage fluctuations (  monophase).

How to place a capacitor with a single-phase electric motor:

The electric capacitor is connected in series with the starting coil of the motor, and therefore the motor has no torque and thus the single-phase electric motor does not start without the starting capacitor.

Do not forget also that electrical capacitors improve the power factor of the engine (energy loss) by adjusting the electrical current and increasing the starting power.

In conclusion, electrical capacitors play an important role in the operation and efficiency of single-phase motors and pumps, and they also reduce electrical costs in the long term.
